Moment young girl clings to window ledge above London shop before falling into arms of a man and police officer below
This is the moment a toddler fell from the second floor of an east London pawnshop after climbing out of an open window above it.
The little girl in pink managed to get close for ten minutes, clinging to the ledge, before letting go and falling into the arms of a stranger and a police officer.
Incredibly, the boy escaped unharmed in the incident where he and the Met police officer were caught by a member of the public on a balcony 15ft below.
Police confirmed the incident took place on Ilford High Road in east London on Tuesday afternoon.
The boy apparently climbed out of an open window and hung there for nine minutes.
A large crowd gathered in the street below to watch, many of whom decided to film the horrific event.
A spokesman for Scotland Yard said: ‘Officers were called to Ilford High Road at 3.23pm on Tuesday, June 9, following concerns for the safety of a child climbing on a window sill.
‘The girl was brought to safety by a duty officer and members of the public at 15.32. ‘They did not sustain any injuries.’

Neighbors were seen putting their laundry aside and a woman downstairs was seen trying to climb out of her window to catch the girl.
The tense crowd gathered at the scene shouted at the woman, ‘Left! Left!’ as you get closer to the child.
At that moment, a police officer and a shirtless man run out from the adjacent terraced houses.
Moving quickly, the pair position themselves underneath the girl, ready to reach out and grab her.
While the crowd applauds the duo, the girl loses control and is quickly caught by the police officer and the man.

Many social media viewers expressed concerns about the safety of the child, whose age is unknown.
