Waymo launches premier subscription tier for $29.99 a month

Waymo is launching a new subscription tier called Waymo Premier, targeting avid users in some of the most popular markets for its robotaxi service.

Alphabetthe company it owns said in a statement. blog post It was announced Thursday that the plan will cost $29.99 a month and that only select cyclists in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Phoenix are invited to get started. Subscribers will get priority matching, up to five free cancellations per month, and earn 10% loyalty credit or Waymo Cash for each ride.

“You spoke, and we listened to how we can deliver a superior experience for our top drivers,” the company said in the post. “For one monthly fee, members gain access to a suite of exclusive benefits designed to make their journey more seamless and rewarding.”

As Waymo plans an aggressive expansion plan to include London later this year, the company aims to leverage its power users, especially in markets where demand is highest. Subscriptions provide an additional source of revenue; This is an important aspect of the business that is dependent on external capital and aims to stay well ahead of emerging competitors.
