Florida man who allegedly had 34 open alcohol containers in car arrested for DUI

A Florida man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) trooper stopped him for allegedly speeding more than 90 mph on Interstate 75 in Pasco County and found dozens of open alcohol containers inside his vehicle, authorities said.

The traffic incident occurred on I-75 near mile marker 280 in Pasco County, according to FHP.

A trooper was on patrol northbound when a Honda Civic passed the patrol vehicle at speeds exceeding 90 mph, authorities said.

Police initiated a traffic stop and contacted the driver, later identified as 33-year-old Conor William Parady of San Antonio, Florida.

During the encounter, the trooper said Parady allegedly appeared extremely intoxicated.

Authorities said police also found 34 open alcohol bottles inside the vehicle during the stop.

Police observations during the stop led to a DUI investigation, authorities said.

Parady was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and transported to the Pasco County Jail.

Authorities reported his blood alcohol concentration after the arrest was 0.177, according to FHP. Florida’s legal limit for drivers is 0.08.

Online jail records showed Parady was booked into the Pasco County Jail following his arrest. It was not immediately clear whether he had retained an attorney.

Under Florida law, a first-time DUI conviction can carry penalties that include fines, probation, community service, and driver’s license suspension; however, possible penalties in this case will depend on the outcome of the court proceedings.

A spokesperson for the Florida Highway Patrol did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for additional comment Saturday evening.
