Nvidia and xAI said Wednesday that a massive data center facility being built in Saudi Arabia equipped with hundreds of thousands of Nvidia chips will count Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup as its first customer.

The announcement is based on a foundation Partnership since MayWhen Nvidia said it would supply chips using 500 megawatts of power to Humain of Saudi Arabia. On Wednesday, Humain said the project will include about 600,000 Nvidia graphics processing units.

Humain was launched earlier this year and is owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund. The plan to build the data center was first announced when Huang visited Saudi Arabia with President Donald Trump.

“Can you imagine that a startup with around $0 billion in revenues would now build a data center for Elon?” Huang asked. he said.

The facility is a prime example of what Nvidia calls “sovereign AI.” The chip maker said nations will increasingly need to build data centers for artificial intelligence to protect their national security and culture. This is also a potentially huge market for Nvidia’s expensive AI chips, beyond a handful of hyperscalers.

Huang’s appearance at an event sponsored by President Trump is another sign of the administration’s focus on artificial intelligence. Huang became friendly with the president because Nvidia lobbied for a license to ship future AI chips to China.

Musk, a key figure in the early days of the second Trump administration, briefly confused the data center’s size, measured in megawatts (a unit of power), when announcing the deal. He joked that plans for a data center 1,000 times larger would have to wait.

“This will be eight bazillion, trillion dollars,” Musk joked.

Humain will not only use Nvidia chips. Advanced Micro Devices And Qualcomm It will also sell chips and artificial intelligence systems to Humain. AMD CEO Lisa Su And Cristiano Amon, CEO of Qualcomm Both attended a state dinner honoring Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday.

AMD will deliver chips that could require up to 1 gigawatt of power by 2030. The company said that the chips it will provide will be Instinct MI450 GPUs for AI. Cisco AMD said it will provide additional infrastructure for the data center.

Qualcomm will sell Humain new data center chips called AI200 and AI250, which were first introduced in October. Humain will distribute 200 megawatts of Qualcomm chips, the company said.
