WA man charged with child abuse after six children rescued from the Philippines
In crime news, six children have been rescued from harm in the Philippines following an investigation into a West Australian man accused of child abuse.
The children were taken to safety by the Philippine National Police after receiving intelligence from AFP regarding the investigation of a 53-year-old man.
The man, from Albany, was captured by the Australian Border Force as he returned from the Philippines on a flight to Perth Airport on March 26.
Officers examined his luggage, including a cell phone, and allegedly located child abuse material and communications with a Filipino resident suspected of facilitating the purchase of children.
