AEW Forbidden Door 2026 complete match card predictions and picks

The Forbidden Door is one of the most unique events on the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) calendar.

The show brings together wrestlers from AEW, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and Stardom on one card. To further raise the stakes, the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s and Women’s Tournaments will also be concluded.

The card for the 2026 version of Forbidden Gate features five championship matches. The event kicks off at 7pm ET with Buyout, with the main card kicking off at 8pm ET at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

Skye Blue vs. Maika

Skye Blue and Stardom’s Maika will compete in the Buy-In portion of Forbidden Door and take part in the TBS Championship Survival of the Fittest match. The winner will have a chance to participate in the TBS Championship, which Willow Nightingale missed due to injury. Blue sided with Thekla, who vowed to destroy Stardom and New Japan. Blue will be the first strike of the Triangle of Madness in Stardom.

Prediction: Skye Blue wins this race.

Megan Bayne and Lena Kross (c) vs. Thunder Rosa and Olympia for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship

Divine Dominion Megan Bayne and Lena Kross have been on tears since winning the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship. The duo dispatched every opponent in their path. They will face Thunder Rosa and CMLL’s Olympia on Sunday. The prowess of Divine Dominion cannot be ignored here.

Prediction: Megan Bayne and Lena Kross will stay.

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage (c) vs. David Finlay and Clark Connors for the AEW World Tag Team Championship

David Finlay and Clark Connors have targeted Adam Copeland and Christian Cage since the end of Double or Nothing. Copeland and Cage didn’t even have time to take flash photos with AEW fans. They’ve had to look over their shoulders at nearly every AEW TV show. But the veteran tag team duo continued their impressionable careers where it mattered most: the ring.

Prediction: Cope and Cage keep the championship titles around their waist.

Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson vs. Místico and Máscara Dorada vs. Shingo Takagi and Titán

The triple threat tag team match showcases the best of professional wrestling. The Young Bucks will face Místico and Máscara Dorada and Shingo Takagi and Titán. AEW, CMLL and NJPW will take to the stage in this match that should be entertaining.

Prediction: Matt and Nick Jackson take home the victory here.

Jon Moxley (c) vs. Bandido for the AEW Continental Championship

Jon Moxley has held the AEW Continental Championship since the World Championship in December and has defended that title every step of the way. Bandido presents a unique challenge for Moxley, who likes to keep his opponents grounded for the most part. Here, Bandido can survive the ordeal at the Forbidden Gate and claim the title of a member of the Horsemen of Death.

Prediction: Bandido wins AEW gold

Shota Umino (c) vs. Pac for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship

New Japan’s Shota Umino will return to the AEW ring to defend the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship against Pac. He won the title from AEW’s Andrade in a three-way match at Dominion earlier this month. This is a big title defense as he takes on the tough Pac. If Pac and Moxley lose, the Death Riders will have no titles in the bracket.

Prediction: Umino retains title

Thekla (c) vs. Starlight Kid for the AEW Women’s World Championship

Thekla’s war against New Japan and Stardom began immediately after Double or Nothing. He put away three contestants at the final pay-per-view and implored Japanese professional wrestling promotions to do their best. They had to. Starlight Kid is a former Stardom champion and Thekla has the Triangle of Madness behind her, while Starlight Kid has Neo Genesis in her corner. Thekla has proven that she is one of the hottest female wrestlers in the world and she will prove it once again on Sunday night.

Prediction: Thekla remains in a tough match.

Mercedes Moné vs. Mayan World

It all depends on this. The Owen Hart Cup women’s final between Mercedes Moné and Maya World will be played at the All In field in the AEW Women’s World Championship. Moné is the CEO and one of the best in the ring. He returned to AEW as a wild card entry into the tournament and has been on a tear ever since. Dunya is a player on the rise, gaining momentum towards the final. World has proven to be more than capable of taking down any opponent who steps foot in his direction. It will all end in Sunday’s game.

Prediction: Mercedes Moné wins and goes to All In.

Kenny Omega vs. Zack Saber Jr.

Sometimes a match that isn’t in the main event can steal the show. Professional wrestling fans saw this in Double or Nothing between Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada. On Sunday, Kenny Omega and Zack Saber Jr. It may not be any different when he enters the ropes for the possible classics they will stage. Omega and Saber are two of the best in the world and there is no need to explain what they bring to the ring. Sit back and watch this carefully.

Will Ospreay vs. Swerve Strickland

Will Ospreay has vowed to go all-out into the main event All In at Wembley Stadium. He’s kept his promise so far, but faces a familiar foe in Swerve Strickland in the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament final. There is a lot of emotion behind the final here and it will be expressed during the match. Ospreay and Strickland want to be at the top of AEW and have proven they are more than capable of meeting the challenge.

Prediction: Will Ospreay will see his dream come true and defeat Swerve Strickland.

Team Briscoe vs. MJF and the Don Callis Family in a 12-man steel cage match

AEW world champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman puts Mark Briscoe in a tough spot as Briscoe looks to challenge for his title. MJF has a list of reasons why Briscoe can’t participate in this fight, but he left out a few things: Briscoe’s courage and heart. Briscoe and crew will need to beat MJF and crew in a steel cage match to get the shot. Briscoe’s team includes Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly, Konosuke Takeshita and Darby Allin. MJF’s team includes Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Kazuchika Okada and Andrade El Idolo.

Prediction: Team Briscoe wins in a brutal match.
