Another UK heatwave could be on the way

Temperatures have fallen from the record levels seen in the UK last week; However, there are signs that another heat wave may occur with the start of July.
Some forecasts suggest temperatures could drop below 30 degrees again in England and Wales next week. However, there is still uncertainty about how the weather will warm up.
Met Office deputy chief forecaster Tony Wisson said: “The likelihood of extremely high temperatures or high humidity levels, as was the case last week, is currently low, although a return to heatwave conditions appears increasingly likely in some areas.” he said.
A new provisional UK temperature record of 37.7C (99.9F) for June was set in Lingwood, Norfolk, on Friday.
This surpassed the previous June record of 35.6C recorded in 1957 and was equaled in 1976.
National temperature records also fell in at least ten European countries last week; Red extreme heat warnings remain in effect across eastern Europe.
