The Trump administration says it has full support from the Venezuelan government in humanitarian efforts just months after the ouster of former dictator Nicolás Maduro, which sparked outrage among the president’s opponents.
Following magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes that hit the northern part of the South American country last week, the American government stepped in to help, a move the administration said was welcomed by both the Venezuelan government and citizens.
“We have seen full compliance from interim authorities in Venezuela as a result of the unprecedented U.S. response to these deadly earthquakes,” a State Department official told Fox News Digital Tuesday. he said.
