Alex de Minaur in action against Adrian Mannarino and Maya Joint looks to continue strong run vs seeded Alexandra Eala

Alex de Minaur is set for a long stay at Wimbledon after reaching the third round today.

Speaking after the game, he said he knew it would be a tough matchup with Adrian Mannarino and praised No. 3 Court, where he had played in the previous few matches.

“I knew how dangerous Adrian was and we played each other many times,” De Minaur told the courtside MC.

“I think we both hate playing with each other. We make each other’s lives so difficult.

“You may have seen today that there wasn’t a lot of clear clearance, there wasn’t a lot of top spin being played. There are a lot of straight and low shots and my lower back will need some maintenance since I’m leaning over so much.”

“I love playing on this ground and I’ve played some great matches here. It’s a great atmosphere, I love it here and I hope I can stay here for a long time.”
