Supporting Pride London ‘more important than ever’ attendees say

Although there were rumors that Madonna would take the stage in Trafalgar Square, organizers confirmed on social media that this was not the case.
Pride in London posted on social media: “In response to rumours, we can confirm that Madonna will not be appearing or performing at Pride in London.
“We have two fantastic headliners in Trafalgar Square to round off a brilliant day of protest and celebration.”
It is understood there was communication between organizers and Madonna, but she was never a confirmed participant.
Andrew Depass, 60, who came from Miami with his children, was one of the many fans hoping to see him.
“When people were dying of AIDS in the ’90s, the only person who spoke on our behalf was Madonna. She spoke about them,” he said.
“That’s why he’s the most important music icon in my mind.”
Other names who took the stage in Trafalgar Square were Leo Kalyan and Bombaymami.
