Five children among 6 killed, in Mumbai chawl collapse

Five out of six people died when a house collapsed due to heavy rains in Mumbai’s Mankhurd area on Sunday night (July 5, 2026), officials said.
According to the BMC, two to three apartments forming part of the three-storey structure collapsed at Janata Nagar Chawl at 8.30 pm on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
Mumbai Fire Brigade teams, police, BMC Service Personnel and ambulance were pressed into service. The injured were rescued and taken to Rajawadi Hospital and Shatabdi Hospital.
According to the information provided by Shatabdi Hospital, it was announced that 5 people brought died.
Among them was a 32-year-old woman and four children aged 2 to 14. According to the information provided by Rajawadi Hospital, a 7-year-old boy died during treatment, while a 24-year-old man is in a stable condition.
