Nitin Nabin Hints at BJP’s Upcoming Govt in J&K

What are you doing? “The day is not far when Jammu and Kashmir will have a BJP government,” said BJP National President Nitin Nabin at a spirited and emotionally resonant rally in Jammu on Monday.
In ‘City of Temples’ Dr. Addressing thousands of people gathered to celebrate Mookerjee’s birth anniversary, Syama Prasad said the lotus flower “has bloomed in Jammu and will soon bloom in the Kashmir Valley as well”, signaling the party’s growing confidence and expanding institutional footprint in the Union Territory.
Nabin paid a strong tribute to Mookerjee on the occasion, recalling his “historic and courageous struggle” for J&K’s full integration with India and emphasizing that the BJP remains steadfastly committed to the ideals laid out by him. He reminded workers of Mookerjee’s sacrifice in 1953 and described it as a moral compass that continues to guide the party’s political and ideological journey.
The BJP president told the meeting that J&K had a “special and emotional place” in his party’s national vision and described its relationship with the region as “built on sacrifice, commitment and nationalism”. He linked the future of J&K with the broader national aspiration of Viksit Bharat and asserted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP is committed to inclusive development, empowerment and long-term stability.
He reiterated that J&K is moving towards a “new era of peace, progress and prosperity”, driven by development initiatives and renewed focus on governance. His message to the cadre was clear: Unity, discipline and grassroots strength will determine the BJP’s next move in the Union Territory.
Nabin emphasized that his visit was aimed at “mobilizing the cadre”, strengthening booth-level structures and ensuring that the BJP’s organizational machinery in J&K becomes “one of the strongest in the country”. Praising the enthusiasm of local workers, he said their discipline and commitment “reflect the true strength of the BJP” and urged them to continue working with “nationalist spirit and organizational unity”.
His remarks set the tone for a politically significant two-day tour that blended ideological reaffirmation, organizational scrutiny and symbolic support.
His arrival in Jammu was met with a grand and enthusiastic welcome; party workers, senior leaders and many supporters attended. Senior BJP leader Devraj Sharma said the visit instilled “fresh confidence, renewed enthusiasm and a stronger sense of purpose” among workers in the Union Territory. He described Nabin’s presence as a turning point reflecting the central leadership’s resolve to strengthen the BJP at the grassroots. Workers from various districts came together to greet him in the winter capital of J&K, showing their unity and unwavering faith in the new leadership.
The visit took place across the country from June 23 to July 6, lasting two weeks. It coincided with the closing ceremony of Syama Prasad Mookerjee Pakhwada. The grand ceremony at Mishriwala, addressed by Nabin, served as the culmination of programs from Kolkata to Srinagar to honor Mookerjee’s legacy and reaffirm the BJP’s historical link with J&K. Party sources said Nabin will offer flowers to Mookerjee and remind him of the sacrifices he made for the full integration of J&K with India.
Nabin’s itinerary is packed and strategically prepared. After reaching Jammu, he directly went to Mishriwala to address the public meeting. He later held an organizational meeting with office bearers at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar followed by a Core Group meeting at Canal Road to review political developments and organizational functioning. In the evening, he will visit the historical Raghunath Temple to pay respects.
On July 7, the second day of his tour, Nabin will pay obeisance at the Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Katra early in the morning, followed by legendary Dogra leader Pt. Prem Nath Dogra is at Dogra Chowk. He will later hold a series of meetings with MPs, MPs and former elected representatives at the Jammu Convention Centre. His last assignment will be a Yuva Samwad aimed at energizing young workers before leaving for New Delhi.
Meanwhile, BJP J&K President Sat Sharma, who chaired several meetings to review preparations for the visit, called it a “landmark event” for the organisation. Emphasizing that the visit should reflect the discipline, unity and grassroots strength of the BJP, he directed the party committees to ensure flawless execution of every program. Sharma said the National President’s presence would “energize every activist” and further strengthen the party’s base in the Union Territory.
Local political observers see Nabin’s visit as a major organizational move aimed at strengthening the morale of the cadre, strengthening ideological commitment and preparing the party for the upcoming political challenges. “With assertive messages, symbolic temple visits, strategic meetings and a strong emphasis on grassroots empowerment, the BJP hopes to write new success stories in the region and come closer to its goal of forming a government in J&K,” said a local political analyst.
