Jordan Henderson shares update post-surgery – after being ruled out of the World Cup following freak accident during England celebrations in Mexico

Jordan Henderson is smiling from his hospital bed after suffering a freak arm injury and has already put his scary time behind him.
The 36-year-old England star received a chilling blow to his arm while jumping over a billboard while celebrating the 3-2 victory against Mexico in the World Cup last 16 rounds.
But Henderson, who posted a photo with his three surgeons on Instagram, was in an optimistic mood despite being ruled out of the remainder of the World Cup and needing a cast on his “shattered” left forearm.
‘The surgery is over! “Let’s get ready for the big game on Saturday,” he said.
‘Thank you to all the staff who cared for me at the Kansas City Orthopedic Institute. Especially the three surgeons who performed the operation.’
Henderson needed oxygen and was stretchered off the field after Dan Burn recognized his emergency and signaled for treatment.
One of the surgeons, Dr. Kirk McCullough works with NFL stars.
The Brentford player’s father Brian told the Daily Mail exclusively: ‘At first I thought he had fallen. I thought you might have scratched your ankle.

He suffered a horrific injury while trying to jump over a billboard after England’s victory over Mexico.
‘I didn’t know it was that serious until they interviewed Harry Kane and a tram passed by with Jordan on it. I could see him there with oxygen and stuff.
‘I immediately texted the assistant who was there to find out what happened. I was up all night waiting for news.
‘This is his left forearm; completely shattered it.
‘He will be put in a cast and then it depends on what the experts say.
‘He will not leave his teammates’. He will be there until it is completed.’
Despite his injury ending his appearance in the tournament, Henderson is determined to remain in England for the remainder of the World Cup season.
Although the experienced midfielder has only played six minutes this tournament, he remains one of the most influential figures in Thomas Tuchel’s dressing room.
Henderson will meet his father and stepmother Donna when they travel to the United States next week.

Jude Bellingham, who scored two goals in 98 seconds in England’s unforgettable win, said the following about Henderson’s injury after the match: ‘It’s a bit troublesome, but our medical team has everything under control.
‘It’s probably best not to say too much when I don’t know exactly what’s going on. But everyone was there to support him and that alone was a beautiful thing to see.’
Meanwhile, Tuchel claimed Henderson had injured his ankle, telling the media: ‘It looks really bad.
It’s a pretty serious injury and it doesn’t suit the night without Jordan. The doctor told me you were in hospital.’
