AFL star Josh Worrell involved in accidental collision with pedestrian

An AFL star accidentally collided with a pedestrian on a suburban street.
Adelaide Crows defender Josh Worrell went to the police station on Friday after being involved in a collision on Port Road in Woodville.
The incident reportedly occurred while the Crows were on their way to training ahead of their match against Gold Coast.
The Advertiser reported that it appeared Worrell had accidentally hit the pedestrian while driving.
In a statement to the media, SA Police confirmed the collision was being investigated.
“Police have confirmed they are investigating a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Port Road in Woodville this morning.
“Both parties went to police stations this afternoon to report the collision.
“The police did not go to the scene, the investigation is ongoing.”
In a statement published on the club’s website, Adelaide Football Club confirmed it was aware of the incident.
“Adelaide Football Club can confirm that one of its players was involved in a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian this morning,” it says.
“The matter has been reported to South Australia Police and the club is not in a position to comment further at this stage.”
Worrell missed training due to the incident but is still expected to play in Saturday’s match at Adelaide Oval.
The male pedestrian involved in the crash declined to comment at the Advertiser’s request.
