Tom Cruise to Make Special Appearance at FIFA World Cup Closing Ceremony
Los Angeles: FIFA is leaving no stone unturned to turn the FIFA World Cup closing ceremony into a truly grand spectacle. Many surprise performances and special appearances are expected to keep fans on the edge of their seats. And now the latest development is that Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise will perform at the closing ceremony on July 19. FIFA announced Tuesday afternoon, per Deadline, that Tom Cruise, Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams and streaming broadcaster IShowSpeed will be among those performing at the World Cup closing ceremony.
FIFA also confirmed that Grammy and Oscar-winning singer Jennifer Hudson will perform the US national anthem. Meanwhile, European football’s two powerhouses, France and Spain, will meet in a blockbuster semi-final in Dallas on Tuesday, with their place in the World Cup final at stake. Spain, the top seed of the tournament and the European champion, advanced to the semi-finals after beating Belgium 2-1, and Mikel Merino once again scored a decisive goal in the last minutes. France, ranked 3rd, continued their impressive campaign with a dominant 2-0 win against Morocco in the quarter-finals, while France captain Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele scored a clear result to ensure their team a place in the last four.
England and Argentina will lock horns to take part in the final match in Atlanta on Wednesday.
