Raise public issues during monsoon session of Parliament, Jagan tells YSRCP MPs
YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addresses the YSR Congress Parliamentary Party meeting on Thursday.
YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday said there has been a complete collapse of governance in Andhra Pradesh and directed the party MPs to raise people’s issues, corruption, illegal cases, farmers’ distress, employee problems, mounting debts and scams in both Houses of Parliament during the monsoon session starting July 20.
Addressing the YSR Congress Parliamentary Party meeting, Mr. Jagan said that people’s interests must remain the party’s top priority and asked them to raise their voices in Parliament and reiterated YSRCP’s support for the Women’s Reservation Bill.
He alleged that serious irregularities were taking place in the filling of DSC posts, including appointment of candidates without even appearing for the competitive examination, and land allotments across the State had become arbitrary and corrupt.
He said massive looting had taken place in the construction of Amaravati, at costs exceeding £20,000 per square metre; This is an unheard of rate anywhere in the country. He alleged that farmers who refused to give up their land under the pooling scheme were being harassed and their land was forcibly taken away.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said those who expose the government’s failures or question the ruling party are being harassed with fake cases and arrests. He said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was carrying out severe crackdown in the name of social media and getting people arrested at will and told MPs to raise these attacks on democratic rights in Parliament.
He also instructed the MPs to address the problems faced by teachers due to the mandatory TET requirement and highlight the alleged distribution of public assets such as freebies to private parties. He said ports and ports were being privatized and questioned how the almost completed Ramayapatnam Port worth around ₹5,000 crore was handed over for just ₹1,500 crore.
Rajya Sabha members VY Subba Reddy, Meda Raghunath Reddy and Golla Baburao, YSRCP Lok Sabha Grassroots leader P. Mithun Reddy, MPs M. Gurumoorthy, YS Avinash Reddy and Gumma Tanuja Rani, former MPs Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy were among those present.
Application started
Later, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the official ‘Jagan 2.0 Super App’ at the YSRCP head office, describing it as a dedicated digital platform that will connect every party worker directly to the leadership and enable them to express their views fearlessly.
