The full statement from the PSNI reads: “Police are currently at the scene to raise a security alert in the Rosapenna Parade area of north Belfast following a search of a property in the early hours of Friday 17 July.
“Surrounding properties are currently being evacuated and Ardoyne Community Center has opened for residents.
“Cordons are also in place and we would ask the public to avoid the Rosapenna Street and Cliftonville Road areas at this time as officers remain at the scene and investigations continue for some time.
“Significant traffic disruption is expected in the Cliftonville Road area, particularly as we move into the morning, so we would ask that you seek an alternative route for your journey.
“We recognize the disruption this may cause, but public safety is always our priority. We thank everyone for their cooperation and another update will follow in due course.”
