Tupou gives Roosters eight-point buffer late against Storm

Will Warbrick dives with Daniel Tupou for a Tyran Wishart bomb, the ball hits a hand and finds the area, Oryn Keeley catches the ball and sends it to Trent Toelau at half-time with the try line wide open; but the referee calls the play back and decides it was Warbrick’s strike.

Warbrick complains and replays show that it was actually Tupou who touched the ball, but Storm does not challenge and begs for a try.

Adding insult to injury, the Roosters immediately went down the other end and scored themselves, Billy Smith scoring by completing a beautiful back-row strike down the left. There’s some question of a possible obstacle ahead, but the bunker confirms it’s a test.
