Police hunt for ‘£1000’ Louis Vuitton trainers after ‘murder’ probe launched | UK | News

Police investigating the death of a 21-year-old man allegedly kidnapped from Essex are trying to find missing Louis Vuitton trainers. Essex Police believe Jack Sullivan, of Waltham Priory, was “taken away” from the town on June 22. In a statement on Saturday, July 18, Essex Police said he was “seriously assaulted and sadly died from his injuries” during the alleged incident.

Police had previously said on July 2 that Mr Sullivan was found seriously injured in a car park in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, on June 22. He was hospitalized but died on June 26 despite the best efforts of medical professionals, authorities said at the time. Now, as part of the murder investigation, detectives have announced they are seeking the public’s help in finding Mr Sullivan’s blue Louis Vuitton trainers, believed to be worth around £1,000.

Police believe someone was either wearing the designer shoes or trying to sell them.

Police also released a photo of a black Mitsubishi that police believe was “used in the kidnapping” and has now been seized.

Following the release of pictures and updates about the investigation, Essex Police have appealed for people to come forward with any information that may assist the investigation.

Authorities said at this stage three people were arrested on suspicion of murder and released on conditional bail.

On Saturday, Detective Chief Inspector Greg Wood, who is leading the investigation, said: “We believe Jack was taken and transported in a black Mitsubishi Outlander bearing the number plate HY16 FZR, although this is not the vehicle’s actual number plate.

“We know the vehicle was stolen from an address in Loughton on June 3 and we would like to hear from anyone who may have seen it between June 3 and June 23, when we know it was abandoned on River Close near Fishers Close in Waltham Cross. “We would equally like to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle abandoned on that day.

“We are also asking for help finding Jack’s missing blue Louis Vuitton sneakers.

“The trainers are worth around £1,000 and we believe someone will either wear them (perhaps with no knowledge of the previous owner) or try to sell them.”

Mr Wood added: “Jack and his loved ones are at the center of this investigation. We are committed to providing them with answers and I would urge anyone with information about the Mitsubishi Outlander or the blue Louis Vuitton trainers to please come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to do so via Essex Police’s public portal.
