Congress Stages Protest In Khammam Over Rahul Gandhi’s Arrest, NEET Issue

Hammam: Congress leaders and workers held protest rallies in Khammam on Wednesday and staged a dharna condemning the arrest of Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi and demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged leak of NEET papers.

State agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and District Congress Committee president Nuthi Satyanarayana Goud also participated in the protest at the Dr BR Ambedkar statue in Khammam.

Addressing the meeting, Tummala condemned Rahul Gandhi’s arrest, calling it “undemocratic”. He criticized the Central government over the conduct of the NEET exam and questioned why Prime Minister Narendra Modi remained silent while students and unemployed youth were protesting in New Delhi.

The minister also condemned the alleged charges against the protesters and reiterated the Congress’ demand for the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
