Odisha BJP leaders criticise post by MP’s daughter on Pradhan

A social media post by Archita Sachin Rahar, daughter of Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, allegedly celebrating Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation as Union Education Minister, has sparked anger among the party base in Odisha.

“Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned amid massive student protests over the NEET leak fiasco,” Ms. Rahar wrote in an Instagram post with a photo of Mr. Pradhan behind the national flag. On the other hand, state BJP leaders, including his mother, expressed sympathy for Mr Pradhan.

However, Ms. Sarangi, a two-time MP from Bhubaneswar, had no comment. Sources said the MP asked his daughter to remove the post after receiving a call from Mr Pradhan’s office. However, he failed to make an impact.

BJP leaders criticized Ms Rahar for her post. “Mr. Pradhan is the son of the soil. We are saddened by his resignation. Odias have welcomed the daughter of Bihar,” said BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan. [Aparajita] and became a member of parliament twice.”

“Ms. Sarangi should have control over her family members. She should apologize to Odisha for her daughter’s negative remarks against Mr. Pradhan,” he added.
