Pakistan supports Iran’s right to develop nuclear capability for peaceful purposes

On Sunday, Pakistan supported Iran’s right to develop nuclear talent for peaceful purposes, because the two sides signed several agreements to expand cooperation in more than one field.

Iranian President Masoud Pesshkian, who came to Islamabad on Saturday, met with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on his official residence.

At a joint press conference after the meetings, the Sharif stressed that Iran has the right to peaceful use of nuclear energy at the center of the ongoing tensions with Israel.
“Pakistan stands with Iran to buy peaceful nuclear energy,” he said.

Interestingly, the Sharif’s words come in the midst of increasing tensions between Iran and the United States, called “non -NATO ally” on Tehran’s nuclear program of Tehran.

In June, Israel and the United States launched coordinated air strikes at the Iranian nuclear facilities. Following the attacks, Iran suspended cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). During the press conference, Prime Minister Şerif condemned the “Israeli aggression” against Iran and expressed solidarity with Tehran’s right to defense. He criticized Israel’s actions in Gaza, and called on the international community, especially Muslim nations to address the ongoing human rights violations in the region.

The Sheriff said that the two sides had signed a few mouss and made a commitment and hoped that they would soon turn into agreements.

The Minister said Pakistan and Iran aim to reach a target of $ 10 billion in annual trade.

The two leaders also discussed terrorism issues and agreed to strengthen cooperation to combat militancy throughout their common borders.

President Pesshkian said in his words that the signed MOUS also included one about the finalization of the earliest free trade agreement between the two sides.

According to the Pakistan radio operated by the state, they exchanged 12 agreements and mouss in the presence of Pakistan and Iran Sheriff and Pesshkian.

Agreements and Mous, trade, agriculture, science, technology and innovation, information and communication, culture, art, tourism, climate and marine security cooperation.
