City of Canning’s Lens on Biodiversity: Competition invites photographers to take close look in backyards

A photo contest invites people to look more closely at the natural world around them.

Biodiversity 2025 Community Photography Competition The entrances of the City of the City of the City of the City are opened to coincide with the month of Biodiversity on 1 September.

The competition includes categories for children, young people and adults, and winners share more than $ 1400 in a reward pool.

Winning entrances will be exhibited in a public exhibition later this year.

The competition is open to all amateur photographers. Participants do not have to live in the city, but all photographs should be taken within their limits.

President Patrick Hall said that everyone is a way to look at the beauty and complexity in their backyard.

“You don’t have to be an expert photographer or environmentalist,” he said.

“This contest is about curiosity. Whether a bird on the flight, mushrooms growing in a log or a unique pattern in a leaf, all of these moments tell the story of the biological diversity in our city.”
