Chick-fil-A set to open first UK restaurant years after anti-LGBT+ controversy

A US Fast Food chain gives an offer to break the UK market for the second time after the first attempt of political debates.
Chick-Fil-A, which has thousands of restaurants in the United States, Canada and Porto Rico, confirmed that this week will open its first permanent restaurant in Leeds this fall.
The popular fried chicken chain, the new permanent branch in the next two years in the UK hopes to open the five restaurants, he said.
The planned new sites come after a reaction to Chick-Fil-A’s attitude of their owners on LGBT+ rights.
Eight days after the opening in October 2019, it was announced that the first UK’s output will be closed in reading.
In 1946, it turned out that both general manager Dan Cathy and his late father Samuel made donations against the LGBT+ groups.
LGBT+ People, in 2012, after the same gender of marriage clearly opposed to a series of boycott, kisses and the same gender, except for the restaurants in the United States: “When we shake our fist to him, we invite God’s judgment about our nation and say that we know better.”
Meanwhile, Samuel Cathy used Chick-Fil-A profits to finance charities, including Exodus International, a group introducing gay and transgender transformation therapy.
His son is accused of providing $ 1.9 million (£ 1.4 million) to the help scholarship of Christian athletes who opposed relations from the same sex.
After the company announced its plans for the Reading Branch, the decision was condemned by LGBT+ Rights groups in the United Kingdom, planned protests and boycotts of the restaurant.
Oracle Shopping Center, where the reading site opened, announced that Chick-Fil-A will not expand its first six-month rental.
At that time, the restaurant rejected Mr. Cathy in any way on his views on LGBT+ Rights or aid donations.
And now, six years later, Chick-Fil-A is doing another attempt to enter the England market.
For the next decade, the company has invested 100 million dollars (£ 74 million) in its expansion in this country.
Earlier this year, two branches come in Northern Ireland after the opening.
The company also announced that it plans to start its first restaurant in Singapore in 2025.
Chick-Fil-A, Inc General Manager Andrew T. Cathy told Cater: “Expanding in both Europe and Asia is a meaningful milestone for Chick-Fil-A.
“The investments we make in the UK and Singapore not only offer opportunities for our business, but also our chance to bring the positive effect in our unique franchise model and communities that make Chick-Fil-A special to new places.”
