A pornography site that publishes photos of well -known Italian women, including Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and opposition leader Elly Schlein, caused anger throughout the country. The paintings before the obscene subtitles and before, were stolen from women’s social media or other open sources and published in the “VIP section” of the site.
Politicians offer legal complaints, police investigation
The website “Phica” has been with more than 700,000 subscribers since 2005. The Central Left Democratic Party (PD) was largely disconnected from a series of politicians to legal complaints, which led to a police investigation. Increased threat of online women’s hostility
Scandal comes after the recent closure of an Italian Facebook group called “Mia Moglie” (my wife), where men publish the sincere photos of their wives and other women without knowledge or consent. The incident played a national debate on widespread women’s hostility and gender -based violence in Italy.
Last month, Italy’s Senate issued a new law that legally established women’s medicine and pushed porn penalties, sexual violence and revenge. The Phica scandal emphasized the urgency of these new laws and stronger protection against online abuse.
