Over 1,500 members of CPI(M) pledge their bodies for research

The Indian Communist Party (Marxist) more than 1,500 leaders and staff [CPI(M)] The former party secretary Sitaram Yecury registered full body donation on Friday to celebrate the first anniversary of his death. Yecury’s body was donated to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for medical education and research.
At a souvenir event, CPI’s former state secretary K. Balakrishnan said that the purpose of mass recording was to send a message that people should serve humanity both in life and after death. “This action is challenging religious taboos in handling dead bodies often seen as non -pure bodies,” he said.
Mr. Balakrishnan also criticized the caste -based tomb practices in Tamil Nadu. “Even in death, caste identities are protected on the grounds of separated cream.
CPI (M) Political Bureau Member P. Vasuki said that the anniversary of the death anniversary was observed throughout the country and Tamil Nadu focuses on body donation, especially. State Secretary P. Shahanmigam, senior leaders TK Rangarajan, K. Samuelraj and others attended the event.
Registration forms for body donation were officially delivered to Suganthi Rajakumari and Deputy Director Sripriya.
