Madeleine McCann prime suspect refuses Met Police interview before German jail release | UK | News

Met Police announced that Madeleine McCann’s request for a meeting with a suspect was rejected. The 49 -year -old German national Christian Brueckner continues to be the best suspect in the case, and is currently sentenced to prison in Germany for rape the elderly at his home in Praia da Luz, where Madeleine is currently disappeared in 2005.

Brueckner rejected that he had participated in the disappearance of Madeleine, which was only seen by his family when he was only three years old. Met police sent an international request letter to Brueckner. DCI Markwell, a senior investigation manager of Met’s investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, said in an update: “We have worked closely to investigate the disappearance of Madeleine McCann for several years and to support Madeleine’s family in 2007.

“We are aware that a 49 -year -old German man, who was the primary suspect in the German Federal investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine, was released from the prison.”

Met Police confirmed that “this individual’s metropolitan police continue to be suspicious in his own investigation” and rejected the requests for interview. He added: “We wanted an interview with the German suspect, but for legal reasons, this can only be done with an international request letter sent.

He continued: “Later was rejected by the suspect. In the absence of an interview, we will still continue to maintain any investigation line.”

The update continues: “We cannot provide more information while the investigation continues. Any question about the conditions for release should be directed to the German authorities.”

Madeleine’s disappearance 18 years before the disappearance of calls in Portugal continued. Most recently, it took place in June of this year near Portugal Lagos Municipality.
