The third research of Devadasis in Karnataka started on Monday due to confusion on the list of documents sought for the government to determine the identity of the government. Activists don’t even know that many of them are inadequate promotions.
On Monday, a series of Devadasis, who went to the women’s and children’s welfare department Taluk office, had to return home without completing the survey because they lacked documents containing the family tree. In some places, server problems slowed down.
The government was found to be compulsory between more than a dozen of the family members who were excluded from these devadasis and previous surveys or from the families of Devadasis, who died. According to the authorities, Taluk offices seem to have confusion.
FAMILY TREE PROBLEM
Shobha S. Gasthi, a member of a former devadasi and the Government, felt that many of the family tree’s insistence would prevent the benefit from benefiting. He said that the family tree could only take more than two weeks to apply and the survey process could end before receiving it.
In addition, although the survey started, the regional committee has not yet gathered once.
Karnataka Vimuktha Devadasi Mahila Matthu Makkala is a devadasi and state coordinator Yamanurappa Halavagli said: “The questionnaire is not transparent. The regional committees were not trained before the survey. In fact, various regional committee itself did not occur”.
In 15 regions
The Devadasis Survey is carried out in the 15 North and Central Karnataka region, where the system of dedication to women to temple services, even after 1982, where the Karnataka Devadasis law is valid.
The first two polls conducted in 1993-1994 and 2008-2009 detected 23.630 and 46,660 Devadasis, while thousands of people have been left outside since an age criterion of 45 years and over.
The current survey directs the government to the government to conduct a new survey before 24 October.
RV ChandraShekar, a petition owner before the SHRC and RV ChandraShekar, who was a member of the government at the state level, said, “Although we demanded that age criteria should not be implemented, the application created for the purpose has age criteria again”.
Declaring yourself
However, the government officials in Bengaluru insisted that a self -declaration was sufficient and that the family tree was not compulsory. An official will be handled by the Commissioner’s Survey, which will confirm and declare an applicant as a devadasi. This process continues at the same time, ”he said.
Regarding the age criteria, the official sources said that the devadasi system could continue as a religious practice, but that it has stopped being a social evil for a long time. “Efforts are made to get inappropriate people on the list because the benefits are high.”
