Janaki’s contributions to Karnataka (Kannada film industry).
“Her husband was from Mysuru,” Yathindra told reporters, adding, “Janaki Amma had a strong connection with Mysuru.” Music director Hamsalekha stated that steps have been initiated to build a huge “Dhyana Mantapa” at the spot where Janaki HD Kote was cremated in a farmhouse in Kaniyanahundi. However, he said the construction would only be built if the farmhouse owner approved his idea. Hamsalekha recalled that Janaki had expressed to her that she wanted to breathe her last in Mysuru.
