FIFA objects to $100 train fare for 2026 World Cup at MetLife Stadium

With less than two months until the start of the 2026 World Cup, Democratic leaders in New Jersey and New York are trying to figure out how to get fans to Met Life Stadium. The results would be hilarious if they didn’t reveal such utter incompetence.
New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill surprisingly announced that train travel to eight games at the Meadowlands facility, which usually costs $12.90, will cost football fans $150. FIFA, football’s global governing body, draws a red card.
FIFA claims that the original agreement stated that it would cover transportation costs to the venues where the games would be played, but Sherill claims that the agreement was made by the previous Democratic administration in Trenton and for some reason is not valid now.

As a result, Democrats, who maintain near-hegemonic control over New York City’s metropolitan area, spent years and did nothing to figure out transportation for the World Cup.
NJ TRANSIT CEO TO ANNOUNCE WORLD CUP FEE INCREASE NJ GOV AGAIN ASKS FIFA TO PAY $150 TRAIN TICKET
Logistically, there is no excuse for this. We’re not talking about the D-Day landings here. There are a few football matches. This situation should not surprise state leaders.
Gotham’s communist mayor, Zohran “Madman” Mamdani, ran ads last year promising cheap World Cup tickets to working-class New Yorkers. Now the ruling Democrats can’t even let fans into the stadium.
It doesn’t make any sense. Met Life Stadium hosts approximately 20 NFL games per year. It hosted the Super Bowl, and Taylor Swift played a three-night concert there that brought in 217,000 Swifties. How many people are we expecting for the Ghana-Uruguay match?
DEMS, WHICH WAS WALKING WITH CONVENIENCE, NOW FACES INCREASES WHEN COSTS INCREASE IN NY, VIRGINIA
We see this all over the country, everywhere Democrats are in power.
Take Maryland, where the reconstruction of the Frances Key Scott bridge, destroyed by a ship last year, was originally planned for $2 billion and was scheduled to open in 2028, but is now estimated at $5 billion and won’t move cars until 2030.

Likewise in California, Gov. Gavin Newsom has spent billions on high-speed rail, animal shelter overpasses, and fighting homelessness, but there are no trains, a wildlife bridge is not completed, and homelessness has never been worse in the Golden State.
DHS CLOSURE PUTTING AMERICANS AT RISK AS WORLD CUP SECURITY PREPARATIONS ARE ‘SIGNIFICANTLY BEHIND’: SEN FETTERMAN
When I first moved from Brooklyn to West Virginia, work was being done on a major local bridge. It was really a big inconvenience. Then one day I heard on my car radio that the bridge would be finished a week early and under budget.
Puzzled, I called a friend of mine who was then a New York city council member and said, “Hey Joe, there’s a bridge being built here, they say it’s going to be done early and under budget. Do you know what that means?”
To which Joe replied: “No, I’ve never heard those words before.” We were kidding, but barely.

Democrats in our urban areas seem to throw money at things like feasibility studies and then come back saying it’s not possible no matter what, but eventually more funding could be made available for additional studies.
But thanks to some magical management magic in our rural areas, officials actually have the ability to fix things.
The sheer amount of incompetence urban voters have accepted from the Democrats is truly bizarre. Just look at the rampant fraud at Minnesota’s Somali “Quality Learning Centers” or California’s scam-ridden nursing homes where nearly every patient miraculously recovers.
DEMOCRATIC STRATEGIST WARNES MAMDANI’S BALLOONING NYC BUDGET PLAN GIVES REPUBLICANS A READY MIDTERM MESSAGE
And now, in New York and New Jersey, Democratic leaders are taking up the simple and normal task of leading supporters across the East River like Moses parted the Red Sea; This was a very simple task that city officials could have easily accomplished a century ago.

11 of the 16 stadiums that will host next year’s tournament, which starts exactly one year from Wednesday, will be in the United States.
Say what you will about the old-school Democratic Party machines that ran places like New York and Philly in the past, they were all corrupt, but they could also get things done. For example, none of this crossover nonsense happened when Giants Stadium hosted the World Cup in 1994.

The sad state of affairs throughout our great nation, from blue city to blue city, is that all Democrats can do is spend money, mostly your money, to manage our urban decline.
Maybe one day the citizens of our cities will give the Republicans a chance, if the Republicans try, but until then, good luck with the football game.
