Adelaide Crows star Josh Worrell to face court over crash with pedestrian

An AFL star will face court after colliding with a pedestrian.
Adelaide Crows defender Josh Worrell was reported for the incident, which occurred while he was on his way to training in Woodville on Friday morning.
The incident happened on Port Rd on the edge of Adelaide.
Worrell’s car struck a 29-year-old male pedestrian, who was injured in the incident.
The AFL star agreed to take the man to hospital after the incident; both parties were there to report the collision that afternoon, but not in the time frame required for Worrell to avoid charges.
“Following investigations, it was reported that the 25-year-old driver was driving recklessly and did not contact the police within 90 minutes after a collision that resulted in injury,” SAPol said in a statement.

“He will be subpoenaed at a later date.”
Despite the incident, Worrell went on to play the full game for the Crows in their 128-49 win against the Gold Coast at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, coach Matthew Nicks said the club continued to support Worrell following the incident.
“It’s been a pretty tough couple of days for Josh, he’s been working since his accident,” he told reporters this week.
“But we are doing our best to support him in this.”

The Adelaide Football Club has been approached for comment.
