Tamil Nadu Protests Against VB-G RAM G Is For All Indian Farmers: Stalin

What happened? While the ruling DMK alliance held protests across Tamil Nadu against the VB-G RAM G Act on Wednesday, Chief Minister MK Stalin said the protest held at 398 places was the voice of Tamil Nadu for Indian farmers.
In a social media post, Stalin said the protests were organized to reinstate the Mahatma Gandhi National Rugal Employment Guarantee (MGNREG) scheme and protect the livelihoods of poor agricultural workers.
The BJP leaders, driven by hatred against Mahatma Gandhi, must realize that this (protest) is the voice of Tamil Nadu for all the farmers of India. He said the BJP regime should ensure the livelihood of farmers.
In Chennai, MDMK general secretary Vaiko, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader Thol. Thirumavalavan, Dravidar Kazhagam president K. Veeramani and Left party leaders participated in the protest.
Thirumavalavan said the BJP government removed Gandhi’s name from the plan as the Mahatma blocked plans to create Hindurashtra. He said the program was a symbol of social justice and employment security for the rural poor.
Addressing the media during the protest, Veeramani said that Gandhi’s ideals cannot be erased by removing his name through legislation. It could not be erased from the people’s hearts. His thoughts, principles and sacrifices are deeply rooted in Indian society, he said.
