What is the Indus Water Treaty?

The agreement established the Permanent Indus Commission (PIC) to share data with a commissioner from each country, to examine things, to solve disputes and to encourage cooperation. If the disputes are not resolved, they may be directed to an impartial specialist or international arbitration.

The Treaty remains in force until both countries agreed to change it with a new, approved agreement.
