Islamabad is reportedly facing an unprecedented security challenge as tensions between the US and Iran continue to escalate. Experts warn that Pakistan could become a front-line target if its territory is used in a possible attack on Iran. Concerns are particularly focused on the strategic Samangali Air Base in Balochistan, which hosts a significant amount of American military personnel and equipment.

In today’s episode of DNA, Zee News Editor-in-Chief Rahul Sinha gave a detailed analysis of the emerging threat. He emphasized that Faraza, Iran’s most powerful paramilitary force, identified Samangali Air Base as a potential first target. The base plays a key role in monitoring activities in Afghanistan and Iran and hosts U.S. drones, fighter jets and refueling planes. The distance between Tehran and Samangali is approximately 1,350 kilometers, which is within the range of Iran’s medium and long-range missiles, including Shahab-3, Emad, Gadr-1, Secil-1, Khorramshahr and the hypersonic Haj Qasem missile.

According to the report, Iran’s missiles could also hit other Pakistani bases, including Shamsi Air Base, Masroor and Faisal Air Bases in Karachi, and Rafiqui, Murid and Noor Khan Air Bases in Punjab. The presence of US forces in these regions increases the risk of direct conflict in case of any military operation from Pakistani territory.

The episode also highlighted the increasing pressure on Pakistan’s leadership. Aware of the potential impacts, Pakistani officials began deploying troops to the Iranian border. Analysts suggest that any US attack on Iran through Pakistan could provoke a direct reaction from Iran, potentially leading to civil unrest and pushing Pakistan into an extremely sensitive situation.
