After Rishabh Pant’s Injury, BCCI Introduces New Injury Replacement Rule

New Delhi: BCCI changed the conditions of the game by bringing a provision for “serious injury changes” in very daily domestic tournaments for the coming season.
The movement comes after Rishabh Pant and Chris Woakes during the recent Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy test series between India and England.
“If a player continues to be seriously injured during the match, a serious injury may be allowed under the following conditions.”
He also adds: “serious injuries should be continued during the game and within the playground described in Article 1.2.5.2.
“The injury must have occurred due to an external impact and have been resulted in break/ deep cutting/ dislocation, etc.. The injury must make the player unusable for the rest of the match.
He continued: “For the player who continues to be seriously injured, a similar substitute will be the desired serious injury change.”
The rule will be implemented in many daily matches of senior and young local tournaments and will be released at Duleep Trophy from CK Nayudu Trophy under August 28 and 19.
After trying a reverse sweep, the pant continued a feet fracture in the fourth test in Manchester, while Woakes was replaced by the serial savings in the oval.
The incident held a discussion on whether the players would be allowed to be changed when serious injuries were subjected to serious injuries. While Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir was in favor of this, the England captain Ben Stokes was not for this.
Rules:
1.2.8.1: If a player is subjected to serious injuries during the match, a serious injury change may be allowed under the following conditions:
1.2.8.1.1: serious injuries should be continued during the game and within the playground described in Article 1.2.5.2 above.
The injury must have occurred due to an external impact and break / deep cut / dislocation and so on.
1.2.8.1.2: The referees in the field will be the final authority that decides to pay serious injury and serious injury change. BCCI match referee and/or can consult a doctor in the ground.
1.2.8.1.3: Team Manager will offer the BCCI match referee a demand for a serious injury in a standard form:
1.2.8.1.3.1: Define the player who continues the serious injury.
1.2.8.1.3.2: Specify the incident in which serious injury is maintained, including the creation time.
1.2.8.1.3.3: Verify that the player continues a serious injury and cannot participate any more due to injury; And
1.2.8.1.3.4: Determine the serious injury change, which will be a similar substitute for the player who continues to seriously injury.
1.2.8.1.3.5 In all circumstances, a serious injury substitute player will be one of the substitutes nominated during the disposal (for the Col CK Nayudu Cup from the time of the players).
Only the small door keeper is seriously injured and replaced by the match referee, if there is no small door guard for the nominated substitutes, a small door guard may allow a small door guard from a player other than the nominated substitutes.
1.2.8.2: If a serious injury request is allowed to change a serious injury, the BCCI match referee should be submitted to the BCCI match referee as soon as possible after the incident specified in Article 1.2.8.1.1.3.2.
1.2.8.3: BCCI match referee, backup, include a similar player for the rest of the match that does not provide an extreme advantage to the rest of the match, normally approve a request for a serious injury.
1.2.8.4: While evaluating whether the serious injury change will be accepted as a similar player, the BCCI match referee should take into account the possible role of the serious injured player in the rest of the match and the normal role to be performed by the serious injury change.
1.2.8.5: If the BCCI match referee believes that the involvement of serious injuries shown will benefit the team when performing the normal roles, the BCCI match referee may perform such conditions of serious injury replacement in a serious way, seriously, serious injuries for seriously encounter.
For clarity, a serious change of injury will inherit all warnings to the amended player, penalty time and suspensions.
1.2.8.6: The BCCI match referee reviews the request for a serious injury to change in accordance with Article 1.2.8.1.3, while requesting more information that may be necessary to make the necessary determination under Article 1.2.8.4 and 1.2.8.5.
1.2.8.7: The decision of the BCCI match referee shall be final and no team has the right to appeal.
1.2.8.8: After the change of serious injury has been approved by the BCCI match referee, the amended player will not take any other place in the match.
1.2.8.9: It will be considered that both the serious injury change and the amended player played in the match for records and statistical purposes.
