Tourists banned from hill stations, other hotspots on New Year’s Eve: Chikkamagaluru Deputy Commissioner

Chikkamagaluru district administration has banned tourists from visiting tourist attractions in the district, including hill stations, between 6 pm on December 31 and 6 am on January 1. This is a precaution taken to prevent untoward incidents during New Year celebrations.
Deputy Commissioner Meena Nagaraj CN said that on December 29, tourists visited Mullayyanagiri, Seethalayyanagiri, Manikyadhara, Zhari Falls, Honnammanahalla, Galikere, Hirekolale Kere, Diamond Falls in Chikkamagaluru taluk, Ethina Bhuja, Devaramane, Rani Zhari, Ballalarayana Durga, Bandaje Falls, Kudige. He issued the order banning him from visiting the Falls. Mudigere taluk, Kyatanamaki, Dudrapada, Suspension Bridge,Abbugudige WaterfallAyyanakere in Kalasa taluk, Madagada Kere in Kadur taluk, Kemmannugundi, Kallathagiri and Hebbe Falls in Tarikere taluk.
However, tourists who book homestays and rooms in resorts while going to these tourist destinations are allowed to travel to their destinations. The Deputy Commissioner issued the order on the advice of the district police.
