Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor ‘told Epstein victim: I know he’s inappropriate’ | Royal | News

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been accused of telling an Epstein victim that her financier was “inappropriate” after she confided in the former prince, it has been revealed. Andrew, 65, reportedly introduced a young actor he was dating to Epstein during a visit to Windsor Castle in the late 1990s.
It is believed that Epstein sexually assaulted the actress after meeting her. The victim, who received payments from Epstein’s estate, reportedly told Andrew that Epstein had acted inappropriately towards her 25 years ago. This was claimed by high-profile US lawyer Perry Wander. he told The Mail on Sunday. Andrew later told the actor he was “not surprised” because someone else had previously made a similar claim about Epstein.
This conversation reportedly took place more than a year before Epstein whisked Virginia Giuffre away to London, where she met the former prince.
Giuffre later accused Andrew of sleeping with her three times when she was just 17; These allegations Andrew has always vehemently denied.
The Mail on Sunday also reported that Mr Wander, the barrister, said the woman who spoke about Epstein’s inappropriate behavior towards Andrew came forward after being inspired by Ms Giuffre’s “courage” to speak out about Epstein and what happened to her.
The lawyer said the unnamed woman was encouraged by the former prince to spend time with Epstein and flew on his jet several times. She also reportedly visited Epstein’s mansion and private Caribbean island in Palm Beach, Florida, and was eventually sexually assaulted by Epstein.
Mr Wander said: “My client disclosed that Prince Andrew encouraged him to seek and follow the guidance of Jeffrey Epstein and to spend time with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
The lawyer continued: “When she questioned Prince Andrew about whether it was safe to do this, the Prince told her that he ‘trusted Jeffrey and Ghislaine’ and that ‘she should take Jeffrey’s advice and spend time with him and Ghislaine.’
It is believed that she later told Andrew that she did not like the way Epstein treated her, but she did not tell Andrew that Epstein had sexually assaulted her. The Mail on Sunday said the former prince later admitted he knew someone else had also complained about Epstein’s actions.
The Mail on Sunday reports that Mr Wander said: “One memory that stuck with her and became a compelling factor in identifying Prince Andrew was a conversation in early 2000 in which she confided in him about her time with Epstein and revealed he had behaved inappropriately towards her.
“In response, she admitted that she was not surprised to hear someone else make a similar claim. She remembers thinking: If she had known about this, why would she encourage me to spend time with Epstein? She expressed ambivalent feelings for Prince Andrew and initially did not want to publicly disclose it. But Virginia Giuffre’s courage taught her that fear should not stand in the way of justice.”
Andrew, who recently lost his royal titles amid scandals surrounding his past friendship with Epstein, was asked to comment.
