Alex Pretti’s Minneapolis death was murder, Americans declare in damning poll as voters issue new demand to Trump… and reveal how few back the shooting

A majority of American voters believe Minnesota nurse Alex Pretti was killed by Donald Trump’s Border Patrol, according to the latest poll.
The 37-year-old man died Saturday after being shot nearly ten times.
Gruesome videos of the incident show Pretti being tackled by more than half a dozen agents before he was shot in the back. The fact that the Department of Veterans Affairs intensive care unit worker had a gun and two fully loaded magazines in his hand when he was encountered made the officers nervous.
But just before he was shot and killed, an agent disarmed Pretti.
According to a Daily Mail/JL Partners poll of more than 1,000 American voters released Monday, 54 percent believe Pretti was killed by federal law enforcement. The margin of error is 3.1 percent.
More than one-fifth of Republicans, or 22 percent, said Pretti’s killing constituted murder.
Only 21 percent of those surveyed said shooting and killing the nurse was justified.
The murder shocked the nation and sparked protests in Minneapolis and around the state, just two weeks after Minnesota woman Renee Nicole Good was fatally shot by federal agents. This situation also shook the trust in the President.

Democrats and Republicans in Congress have since called for an investigation into the attack. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is conducting an internal investigation into the matter, as are local authorities in Minneapolis.
There is no indication from the FBI whether it will investigate the attack.
The poll results are indicative of a weak moment for Trump’s deportation authority following the deaths of two Americans.
Immediately after the tragedy, the administration was quick to label Pretti a domestic terrorist bent on killing federal agents.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Trump’s top adviser Stephen Miller have since been forced to walk back their initial inflammatory comments.
“A so-called assassin tried to kill federal law enforcement officers,” Miller posted on social media a few hours after the shooting.
He has since accused CBP of giving bad information to the White House, which led to Noem and her statements.
“We are evaluating why the CBP team may not have followed this protocol,” Miller said in a statement to the Daily Mail.

Border Patrol agents arrested Pretti on Saturday
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem faces intense scrutiny following Good and Pretti’s deaths
CBP’s preliminary investigation reportedly revealed that two agents opened fire on Pretti.
Since Saturday, Trump appointed border czar Tom Homan to lead ICE deportation operations in Minnesota.
The move is widely seen as a condemnation of Noem’s handling of the mandate that sent 3,000 federal agents to the state.
Former Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino, a close Noem ally and the face of the ground force, was reassigned to the California border district and stripped of his title.
Reports indicate that he was also suspended from social media after dueling with online personalities. These reports indicate that Bovino plans to retire soon.
