‘All BJP’s work and facade’: Congress leader Udit Raj on Arvind Kejriwal’s release in excise policy case

Speaking to ANI, Raj claimed that the consumption policy was changed overnight. “Private houses were handed over to private owners. A money trail was discovered where money was sent to Goa and a large number of mobile phones were destroyed,” he claimed.
He claimed that there were political motives behind the case and its outcome. “This is all the work of the BJP and a show. CBI will not take any action in the Supreme Court as the charges for obstructing the Congress have been dismissed. The Congress government will be formed in Punjab, but it is clear that they are colluding to prevent the formation of this government and ease their way in Gujarat,” he said.
Claiming it a case of “undeniable corruption”, he said, “This case is an obvious example of corruption–undeniable corruption. Yet, they claim it doesn’t exist.”
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal addressed a rally at Jantar Mantar early on Sunday and hailed the court’s latest “historic verdict”, which he said was in favor of the people of the national capital Delhi and the country.
Referring to the court decision given two days ago, Kejriwal said, “The day before yesterday, the Delhi court made a historic decision in favor of the people of Delhi and the country. I want to congratulate the people of Delhi and the country. I want to thank the judge. In today’s atmosphere of fear, the judge made a very brave decision.”
The rally took place after the Delhi court discharged Kejriwal, former Delhi minister Manish Sisodia and 21 others in the Delhi excise case. Kerjriwal alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were conspiring against him and his party for the last four years.
He also commented on Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement in West Bengal on Monday in which he scolded Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said that the word ‘Parivartan’ signifies the desire to make West Bengal “free from infiltration and corruption”.
Raj claimed that the SIR exercise carried out by the Election Commission of India was aimed at benefiting the ruling party.
“The SIR, conducted by the Election Commission, aims to cut off the opposition votes and ensure the victory of the ruling party. The number of errors and inaccuracies found in the SIR is alarming. People are avoiding the court, there are protests and demonstrations, but no solution has been found yet,” Raj said. he said.
He also claimed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had raised the issue during his visits to Bihar. “But when the final voter list came out, around 1.25 crore names were incorrect and many names were removed,” Raj claimed.
“But this is unlikely to happen in Bengal because TMC is in power and BLO functionaries are loyal to TMC,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Congress on Monday took out a protest march from the Bankshall Court to the West Bengal State Election Commission in Kolkata against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists and demanded an explanation on the alleged omission of voters’ names from the list.
