In a judgment delivered on March 28, Delhi High Court Judge Tejas Karia ruled that MRT Music was the exclusive copyright owner of the two songs (“Nyaya Fifty” and “Omme Ninnanu”) and acquired its rights through a deed of assignment from its parent recording company, Sangeetha. | Photo Credit: The Hindu
The Delhi High Court has ordered Kannada actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty’s production house Paramvah Studios to pay ₹25 lakh to MRT Music for unauthorized use of two songs in the Kannada film ‘Bachelor Party’.
