Alleged gunman, 18, taken into custody following major police operation in Pinjarra, WA

A key police force located the gunman today following reports he was armed with a long-armed firearm in Perth’s south. This morning in Pinjarra, a town south of Perth.
An 18-year-old man, identified by WA Police as Zachariah Ugle, has been taken into custody.
In a statement, police said he was assisting with police investigations and “there is no ongoing threat.”
Mandurah district police Acting Superintendent Darren Hart said earlier police received a report of a suspicious person at a residence on Pollard Street in Pinjarra at around 9.30am.
About 40 minutes later police received a report that a man “was seen on CCTV in a garden with what appeared to be a firearm”.

Authorities said they were investigating the tip that “a bullet may have been fired into that residence.”
Police confirmed no one was home at the time.
No injuries were reported to police.
Significant resources, including a tactical response group and police air wing, were deployed to search for the man.
