‘Amaran’ effect: How a romantic scene is causing trouble for this Chennai student

Right after the blockbuster movie amaranCity student Vaageesan VV, which released on Deepavali starring Sivakarthikeyan, found himself inundated with unexpected calls. Strangely, it has no connection to the film or the cast.

It all started with a scene in the movie that lasted no more than a few seconds. Sai Pallavi, the heroine of the film, throws a crumpled piece of paper with her phone number written on it to the leading actor Sivakarthikeyan. Although one of the numbers is illegible, Mr Vaageesan says it is his number that appears on the screen. This triggered spontaneous calls from strangers.
