Amber Davies: Legally Blonde musical says ‘don’t film my shows’

Legally Blonde music star Amber Davies has said she wants an audience member who filmed a performance from the front row to be kicked out.

The former Love Islander posted a video to her Instagram Stories during a break in the show at Dublin’s Bord Gáis Energy Theater on Saturday night.

“We have a nice audience, but there’s only one woman in the front row, filming the entire first act, which distracted us all,” she said, adding that she asked the staff to move the woman away for the second act.

Production company Royo told BBC Newsbeat it did not want to comment further on Davies’ message.

Davies won the third series of ITV’s Love Island in 2017 and has since continued a career in acting and musical theatre.

She currently plays the title character Elle Woods in a production of Legally Blonde, which is touring the UK and Ireland.

Davies was still in costume and had his stage microphone still in place when he recorded the Instagram post, which he called “your daily reminder not to shoot in the theatre.”

He said the audience had broken the rules and “demoralized our wonderful eighth show on Saturday night due to their selfish behaviour”.
