Andrew’s odd bedroom with 72 teddies as he’s stripped of Prince title | Royal | News

Andrew was stripped of his title as Prince and will now be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
It was announced that the King’s brother will also leave his home at Royal Lodge and move into ‘private accommodation’ at Buckingham Palace, which was confirmed last night.
In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “Her Majesty today began a formal process to remove Prince Andrew’s style, titles and honors. Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. “To date, his lease at the Royal Lodge has provided him with legal protection to continue his residence.
“Formal notice has been given to abandon the lease and he will be moving to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary despite him continuing to deny the allegations against him. His Royal Highness wishes to make it clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies are with the victims and survivors of all forms of abuse and remain with them.”
Andrew will remain eighth in line to the throne, behind Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Prince Harry, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
This comes after Andrew’s relationship with Jeffery Epstein brought the royal family into disrepute. For several years, she had also been dealing with allegations that she had been sexually abused by Epstein after being trafficked; Allegations that Andrew has always vehemently denied.
King Charles is believed to have made the decision following serious indiscretions from Andrew, and the move is said to be supported by Charles’ son Prince William.
The King will fund Andrew’s new home at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, and it is thought he will move to the property as soon as it is practically manageable.
Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, who currently shares a house at the Royal Lodge with her ex-husband, will not be given a new home by King Charles and will have to find somewhere else to live.
Several former Palace staff have previously come forward to share experiences they witnessed during their tenure, including teddy bears on the bed in Andrew’s former bedroom at Buckingham Palace. Former maid Charlotte Briggs, who worked at the Palace in the mid-90s, claimed that there were 72 cute toys in the prince’s bed.
The toys had to be arranged in size order, she said, and it took the staff a full day to learn how to place them on her bed. He told The Sun: “As soon as I got the job I was told about the teddy bears and it was instilled in me how he wanted them. I even had a day’s training. Everything had to be exactly right. It was very strange.”
She added: “But he absolutely loved the teddy bears and was very clear about how he wanted them arranged.”
The largest teddy bears were reportedly positioned at the back, while the rest were arranged in decreasing order of size, from smallest to smallest at the front. Charlotte claimed that the prince’s two most cherished teddy bears sat on mahogany thrones next to his bed.
Royal biographer Ingrid Seward, whose latest book, Mum and Me, was published on February 15, claimed that his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson was sleeping among teddy bears during their time together. The expert noted that he had “about a dozen teddy bears” around his bed throughout their marriage.
Meanwhile, an ITV documentary about Andrew claimed there were handwritten instructions for placing toys and other items in the room. Former Royal bodyguard Paul Page said the handwritten guide included two toy hippos, a black panther and bears, as well as three cushions labeled “Dad”, “Ducks” and “Prince”.
It showed exactly where the blankets would be placed, as well as five toys and a fur coat with ribbons that should hang over the edge of the bed.
Paul said the instructions were laminated and titled “DOY bed: Points for turning the bed and making the bed”, while Andrew kept the accompanying diagram next to his bed while residing at the Palace.
Former Mirror journalist Ryan Parry, who successfully found a job at Buckingham Palace, also gave information about Andrew’s bedroom. He secretly worked at the palace for two months in 2003 after using fabricated references to reveal significant security vulnerabilities at the time.
While there, she was able to move freely around Andrew’s private flat and discovered an ongoing prank with the household staff. This involved him dropping a stuffed monkey into odd spots.
The toy, the former ITV Digital mascot and puppet sidekick to comedian Johnny Vegas, has been dropped off in unexpected places, such as the mouth of a stuffed leopard.
