Angus Taylor works hard to drive apart two Australias

Angus Taylor, who closely watched how Peter Dutton tried to demonize immigrants but ended up leading the Coalition into a train wreck, concluded that Dutton’s failure was due to not being tough enough.

While Dutton limited his hostility to specific classes of immigrants (foreign students, Palestinians, Muslims), Taylor preferred to extend the Coalition’s war on immigrants to the population at large. Specifically, at least 1.2 million permanent residents who will be cut off from government support by Taylor because they are not Australian citizens, no matter how diligently or for how long they have paid their taxes.
