Annual Amarnath Yatra scheduled from July 3 to August 28

He said that pre-registrations for the Yatra will begin on April 15 with both offline and online modes. Pratham Puja (first prayer) for Lord Shiva will be performed on Jyeshtha Purnima on June 29. The Hindu pilgrim registration facility to the holy Cave of Amarnath, located at an altitude of around 13,000 feet in Anantnag district, will be available in 554 branches of J&K Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India and Yes Bank across the country.

Sinha appealed to people across the country to participate in the yatras in large numbers. “All necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a hassle-free experience for pilgrims participating in the Amarnath Yatra and Darshan at the Holy Cave,” he said.
Shri Amarnath Temple Board has made preparations for all basic amenities including movement, accommodation, electricity, water, sanitation, communication and health of pilgrims. Sinha said every registered pilgrim and service provider will be given a radio frequency identification device. “Registered pilgrims will get group accident insurance with the cover amount increased to ₹ 10 lakh per person. Cover for both accidental and natural deaths of ponies – ₹ 50,000 per animal will be provided through the National Livestock Mission,” he said.

Grid power supply will be available along the Baltal Axis to the Holy Cave and from the Holy Cave to Panjtarni, the LG said. “Yatra routes will be adequately illuminated. To facilitate the Yatra, pilgrims will be offered various e-services and a pre-paid system to rent ponies, pithoo, palki, etc. Yatri Niwas facilities will be available at Baltal, Pantha Chowk (Srinagar), Nunwan and Chanderkote,” Sinha said.
2025 YATRIS
After the Pahalgam attack in 2025, around 410,000 pilgrims visited the holy cave; this number was down nearly 100,000 from the previous year. Harsh weather conditions led to the early completion of the yatra within 35 days last year.
