Aston Villa ‘killed’ by financial restrictions, says England defender Ezri Konsa

Villa was sixth in the Premier League last season, because they missed the fifth and the Champions League qualifiers and finishing Newcastle United’s goal difference.

According to Footballtransfers.com, the villa had the lowest third expenditure on the top flight this summer, because it spent £ 57.5 million and compensated for £ 47 million to finish with more than 10.5 million pounds.

“We have to deal with what we have right now,” Kon said.

“I certainly didn’t watch this [transfer deadline day]. It was especially difficult for us.

“I knew that the signing would be difficult for us, so I didn’t look at the last date of the transfer.

“I went to Villa’s social media to see what happened around eight o’clock.

“I think that’s what we need.”

Villa won only one point from a goalless draw against Newcastle, one of the first three matches of this season.

Konsa is hopeful that they can reversed their reserves after the international break.

“We have a big staff, I believe in our team. I believe in our manager,” he said.

“I hope the children entering can really help us and push us.”
