Anupama Parameswaran Abhors First Lead, Second Lead Tags

Actress Anupama Parameswaran, who was last seen in the Telugu film Kishkindha Puri and has also appeared in Dragon, The Pet Detective and Bison, completes a decade in the film industry this year.
In a recent conversation, he talked about how much his life has changed since his debut. “Ten years have completely changed my life. It’s like I stepped into the cinema just yesterday. I never thought I would become an actor. I was very scared at first. But this journey taught me to trust myself and stay strong,” he said. He added that the love he received from Telugu fans, especially for his debut film A Aa, will always remain special.
He also shared his thoughts on the whole “first clue, second clue” debate. His view was clear: “To be honest, these labels feel unnecessary now. The characters I played in Premam, Sai Pallavi and Madonna, were important. It’s not about whether your character is overweight or how much screen time you spend.”
For him, the essence of the role is much more important than the label attached to it.
Despite having a busy year with multiple projects, Anupama remains grounded and grateful. “Every role teaches me something new. I feel lucky that my work continues to challenge me and help me grow,” he shared. Fans continue to appreciate her for her natural screen presence and effortless performances.
Looking back on his decade-long journey, his advice to newcomers is simple: Be confident, focus on your craft, and don’t get hung up on labels or numbers. She’s been learning, growing, and evolving for a decade, and it feels like she’s just getting started.
