Inner west California bungalow sells for $1,526,000 at auction
An updated California bungalow in the heart of Flemington sold at auction Saturday for $1,526,000; this was more than $100,000 above reserve.
Colorful three-bedroom, two-bathroom red brick house 15 Wisewould Street It is surrounded by lush gardens with custom walls, polished floorboards and a large rear deck. The property’s price guide was $1.3 million to $1.4 million.
Nelson Alexander Flemington manager and auctioneer Jon McKenna said bidding started at $1,350,000, with three bidders increasing the price in $10,000 increments above the $1.4 million reserve.
Once the property hit the market, bids continued to rise in $10,000 increments to $1.5 million, McKenna said.
From there, he said, bids were “all over the store,” rising in increments of $1,000 and $2,000, eventually selling to a lone female buyer from the local area.

McKenna said he narrowly beat out a retired couple looking to move from Cairns.
The property was one of 1559 properties scheduled to go up for auction in Melbourne this week.
