AP CM Visits Fisherman’s Home for Lunch

Nellore: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu turned his official visit into a touching show of his connection with the coastal community by sharing a warm and memorable afternoon with a fishermen family in Thummalapenta village of Kavali mandal on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister participated in the “Matsyakarula Sevalo” program during his tour of Kavali in SPSR Nellore district and later visited the local fish market where he interacted with fishermen and women vendors.

Wandering through the crowded market, Naidu personally purchased fresh fish from local vendors, drawing excitement and applause from traders and residents.

Fisherman Tanangari Babu and his son Giri welcomed the Prime Minister to the market. Naidu spoke at length to the fishermen about their livelihood, fishing conditions and fish sales.

During the interaction, Tanangari Babu explained how the government’s “Matsyakarula Sevalo” scheme and its annual financial assistance of Rs 20,000 has become an important support system for fisher families.

The CM also showed keen interest in learning about the different species of fish available locally and the traditional coastal lifestyle of the community.

Naidu accepted Tanangari Babu’s invitation and visited the fisherman’s modest house in Thummalapenta. Carrying the fish he bought from the market, the CM entered the family kitchen where Babu’s wife Venkamma was preparing a traditional fish curry.

As the curry simmered on the stove, Naidu observed the cooking process closely, casually chatted with the family and even playfully stirred the pot for a few minutes. He also interacted with Venkamma’s daughter, who recently gave birth to a baby, and inquired about the health and well-being of both the mother and the child.

In a scene that resonated deeply with locals, the prime minister sat on the ground with his fishing family and shared a simple home-cooked meal with them. Adding a personal touch, Naidu served fish curry to his family members before posing with them for a group photo.

Delighted by the visit, Tanangari Babu’s family thanked the Prime Minister for his visit to their home and for Naidu spending time with them like a member of their family.
